La Fiesta of Pekin

Update… we gave it a cpl months and went back, much improved!!! We were so excited to not have to drive to Morton but… they need practice still! My boyfriends margarita was weak. It took quite a while to get our food. I received the dinner chimichangas asked for no red sauce but it was on there. I will say the shredded chicken was very well seasoned and it was good. My boyfriend ordered no red sauce and also got it on his. Our waiter was very friendly and he did put the order in right they just didn’t do it right. That’s why I say they need practice. It wasn’t the worst experience but we’ll wait a while to go back. All around it wasn’t a bad experience they just need to settle in.

Chips and salsa - delicious. Salsa wasn't too spicy, you could tell that both were not GFS production. I had the chili relleno, cheese enchilada, beans and rice. The beans had such a delicious unique flavor, the chili relleno was perfectly spiced and perfectly cooked. The cheese enchiladas sauce that topped it was both sweet and tangy, complimented the enchilada perfectly. Even the sweet tea was good! The service was wonderful, everybody was so nice! Certainly looking forward to going back

The service was above and beyond. We truly appreciate & enjoyed our time spent in this restaurant. The menu is large they definitely have something for everyone here! The space is large and clean. They do also have outdoor seating. The food came out hot, fresh and delicious. Our family is definitely going back!

This is our first time at La Fiesta located in Pekin, Illinois and we really enjoyed our experience! My goal was to come in here and give a five-star review (despite the negative reviews that are posted) I'm very pleased to be able to come in here and do that today. The steak fajitas were fantastic, the meat was seasoned to perfection and the shredded beef that was in my husband's chimichangas was the best out of all the Mexican restaurants in the surrounding cities. We also enjoyed the salsa and the cheese dip, it's got a little bit more of a hint of Jalapeno in it, so it had a nice kick. Our waiter, Juan, did a wonderful job and was very friendly. We introduced ourselves and he told us that he had moved there from Tennessee to work at that restaurant. We were surprised and told him that we wanted to move to Tennessee. He said he was very happy working at La Fiesta and is happy that he made the move. His customer service was really great and we were happy that we got a nice friendly waiter!

I’ve been going to this location since the first day it opened. I’m gonna say I’ve been there a little under 20 times already. I’ve dined in and I’ve done carry out orders. I’ve eaten here all times of the day. Never had a bad experience yet. Food has always been hot and fresh and tastes amazing. Yes it’s priced a bit higher, but it’s good quality. Don’t waste your time going to the other nasty Mexican restaurants in pekin. Don’t believe all the negative reviews about La Fiesta , just remember this world is full of a bunch of complaining Karen’s now a days .

We have gone several times and the food is always good but it seemed like tonight it was even better. Everything was flavorful and we were please with the portion sizes. The salsa was fresh and delicious. I really appreciate that. The tamal was the best one have ever gotten. So grateful we have this here in Pekin to enjoy. Thank you!

My friend and I had a great experience at this Mexican restaurant! The food was good and full of flavor, but what really stood out was the amazing service and atmosphere. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, and the vibe of the place made it feel extra special. Our food came out incredibly fast, which was a nice surprise. We genuinely enjoyed everything and will definitely be planning to go back next year when we are in town again! The locals here are truly lucky!

We have been to La Fiesta of Pekin twice. Both on a Saturday. Both times we had very good service and the food was terrific. I've had the Juan Special which was very good. I've also had the specialty taco trio and enjoyed the fish, shrimp, and pork tacos. My wife ordered the chili rellenos and was kind enough to allow me to taste them - delicious. The serving sizes were more than adequate. I've never been to the Morton or Canton locations so I have nothing to compare with Pekin. We've had two good experiences at La Fiesta of Pekin and plan on returning.

This family owned chain of Mexican restaurants is very popular in the area, so I was anxiously awaiting the opening in early July 2023 in Pekin, Il. Construction of the new facility wrapped up and they had a "soft opening" in early July, 2023. Almost imediately, bad reports started to filter in, mostly concerning the food, so the wife and I decided to wait a while before dining there. So, this weekend we stopped in and had an evening meal. The facility (being new) was very nice and the waitstaff did a good job of seating and getting drink orders. The complenentary salsa and chips was excellent. The chips were still warm and the salsa was (in our opinion) perfectly made, tasty with just a hint of heat. On to the meal. She had the chicken fajitas ($18.00) and came with rice, beans, flour tortillas (3), Mexican salad and pico de gallo. She passed on the guacamole and sour cream. I opted for my personal favorite the Juan Special ($15.00) and it came with flour torilllas (3), rice and beans. Soft drinks were $3.00 each with free refills. Remembering complaints from others, I was a little apprehensive, but when the food arrived all doubt was erased. The helping were more than adequate, and the plates were sizzling hot, piled high with spiced meat, peppers, onions and other veggies. The seasoning of the food was perfect and the meal was TASTY!! We ate like pigs and still had plenty to bring home! We will definetly be eating there again.
